Trench

It raises your defense against the next attack on you, and is spent there.

All night the shovels bite the earth, stakes are driven in, dry branches are laid before them. Toward morning, before the holding, a ditch and an earthen bank appear that the enemy never expected.

A trench is dug in haste, but it does its work. The first attack to come is met hard before it.

Won in the Instant tier of the auction; takes effect the moment you use it.

• Effect: A single-use trench for your next defense
