History waits to be rewritten. Make the throne yours.
Grow your holding, raise your army, clash with rivals or forge alliances. Trade sends your caravans down the roads, and those who hold the ancient altars reap the bounty of the rites. The legendary buildings go to the boldest bids at the auction table.
What is Otenos?
Otenos is a grand strategy game you play in your browser and on your phone, with nothing to download. The game unfolds in Ages: each Age opens on a new map, lasts 28 days, and everyone plays by the same rules. On the final day the throne finds its ruler, and your title and chronicle carry over into the next Age.
Every Age is fought on six fronts.
Work four resources, raise your buildings, and never let your queue sit empty. Every great kingdom begins with a holding hard at work by first light.
Your infantry holds the line, your cavalry breaks the flank, your trebuchets bring down walls, your boats cross the sea. The field goes to the commander who knows their army.
Hold the altars, found a second holding, tear down your neighbor's banner and raise your own. The map is redrawn every morning, and you draw the borders.
Form an alliance, give your word, strike deals. Your caravans take to the roads and your Market trades with distant lands; an ally who keeps their word reaches farther than any sword.
The mightiest buildings of the Age are won by sealed bid. Only you can see your bid. Read your rivals and the lot is yours.
Choose your house, rise through the three phases of the Age, and reach for the throne. Your title and your chronicle march with you from Age to Age.
It starts with a holding. It grows into a kingdom.
From Sawmill to Foundry, from Barracks to Shipyard, every building opens a new door for your holding, and every level brings a new choice. Queue your builds at night and wake up a step ahead.
Every patch of land on the map has an owner.
Hundreds of holdings, dozens of altars, islands and straits. Your army marches overland and crosses the sea by boat. Stand at an altar when the rite comes and your balance grows; hold your borders firm and your lands expand.
The buildings that win thrones are won at auction.
The mightiest buildings of the Age change hands in a sealed-bid auction. You grow your balance on the map and place your bid in silence; at the close, the bids are opened and the highest one wins.
A world built for the throne.
The land awakens, armies march, and on the final day the throne finds its ruler.
Every holding is the first stone of a kingdom; yours will rise on this map, among all the others.
Every throne rises from the bounty of the land; whoever works it with skill builds the greatest kingdom of the Age.
The patience of the forest; every roof and every trebuchet rises from its trunks.
Torn from the mountain's spine, it stands through the centuries.
Glowing in the forge, shaped on the anvil; it gives armies their might.
The bounty of the soil; it reaches every table, and the kingdom lives on it.
From Farm to Wall, from Barracks to Shipyard, you lay every stone, and as your holding grows you choose its specialization.
Your spearmen meet the horsemen, your cavalry scatters the ranks, your archers thin the enemy before a sword is drawn; the field goes to the commander who knows their army.
Each house calls you to a different victory; you decide whose banner you march under.
The auction never rests during the Age; lots close one after another, and each goes to the sealed bid that reads its rivals best.
Sacred sites scattered along coasts and islands; whoever holds one with an army grows their Tender balance when the rite comes.
Plans that take hours, moments won in minutes.
Armies march for hours, buildings rise over days; but some moments are won in minutes: a lot closing, a raid on the horizon, a rite beginning at an altar. Even when you're away from the game, the news reaches you.
Lots close one by one, and each gets its own moment. You can update your bid right up to the end.
Your Wall, Watchtower or Beacon warns you of a raid marching on your holding. Dig a trench, launch a sortie or recall your army; the move is yours.
The hour of every rite is announced to all in advance. Whoever stands ready at the altar when it comes wins.
28 days, three phases, one throne.
At the end of the Age, the throne finds its ruler and titles are awarded. Your title and your chronicle stay with you; a new Age awaits on a new map.
6 houses, one choice.
Each house carries the legacy of an ancient bloodline and strengthens one side of the game: bounty, craft, walls, healing, vigil or treasure. The banner you choose marches with you all Age long.
The throne can't be bought.
Speed, resources, soldiers and Tender are earned only in play. Every tool that makes the game easier is free for everyone.
