In the workshop, carpenters, smiths and masters who know their numbers meet at the same bench. Great beams are measured, ropes are twisted, counterweights are balanced. What is made here does not fight; it speaks to other people's walls.

A siege is won in this workshop long before the armies meet. Even the highest wall bows at last to a patient master's reckoning.
