Reports and notifications

The Age goes on even when you're away from the screen, and Otenos keeps you informed: you hear about it when your army returns, when your bid is opened, when a raid closes in on your holding or when an army reaches your altar. This chapter covers reports, live notifications, phone notifications and the Tender ledger.

Reports

Every event leaves an entry in the reports panel, and reports are kept for the whole Age.

ReportWhen it arrives
BattleA raid on your holding, your own raid, an altar battle, an interception, a raid your reinforcements fought in
ScoutingYour scouts' return; your holding being scouted (if you have scouts there)
SiegeYour wall being breached, a building being destroyed, siege engines being burned
Loyalty and conquestA governor lowering loyalty, a holding changing hands
AuctionA lot you won or lost, with the winning bid
AltarAn army approaching your altar, a rite victory, your altar changing hands
HoldingYour queue breaking, starvation and desertion, the traveling merchant
DiplomacyDeclarations of war, alliance wars, pact proposals, requests for reinforcements
CaravanYour caravan being intercepted, a foreign caravan passing near your holding

Reports tell you what happened: the troops you lost, the loot you took, the Tender you earned. Your score in the rankings lives in your Charter and doesn't appear in reports.

Who learns what in a battle report

  • The defender sees the attacking army in full: its troops, their own losses and wounded, the strength ratio, morale, the wall and any loot taken.
  • The attacker learns what their army saw:
  • If anyone from your army came back, you get a full report: enemy losses by type, siege results with levels, morale, the wall and the loot. This report doesn't show the garrison left standing.
  • If your army was wiped out but broke something, you get a witness report: only the rough type of the enemies you cut down, and whether the wall or buildings were hit.
  • If your army vanished without a trace, the report only says "No word from your army."
  • An ally whose reinforcements fought sees the enemy army and their own losses.

The report gives a rough strength ratio between the two armies: evenly matched, one and a half times, two, three, four or five times, and which side was stronger.

Live notifications

While the game is open, events appear on screen the moment they happen: a lot closing, a warning coming in, an army returning, a response window opening. Auction closes and the response window are live moments; you can decide the instant the notification arrives.

Phone notifications

If you allow notifications on your phone or in your browser, these events reach you while you're not in the game:

  • A force is approaching your holding (the response window has opened).
  • An attack has hit your holding: it was driven off, or your city fell.
  • Your bid has been opened at the auction: you won or you lost.
  • Your build queue was broken.
  • An army is heading for your altar (if you have a scout there).
  • Your holding is about to be counted as abandoned.
  • The Age has ended.
  • A new Age is opening (if you have no holding in any world).
  • Someone whose path crossed yours, or someone from your guild, has joined a world.

You don't get phone notifications while the game is open; you're already seeing what happens on screen. The result of your own raid doesn't arrive as a notification; it waits in the reports panel.

Sightings

If you have a building that gives warnings, enemy movements passing through its field of view are listed in your sightings: who the army or caravan belongs to and how many kilometers from your holding it will pass. One tap on a sighting sets up an interception march (Interception).

Tender ledger

The Tender ledger records every movement of your Tender balance: your starting balance, rite income, quest rewards, the Mint, the price of lots you won and locks. You can see line by line where your balance came from and where it went.
