Account and fair play
Your Otenos account comes with you from Age to Age: your profile, your chronicle, your titles and your cosmetics all live in it. This chapter covers creating an account, logging in, devices, the rules of fair play and Lumen.
Creating an account
- Email: each mailbox can open one account. Different spellings of the same mailbox (upper and lower case, tags added with `+`, dots in Gmail) count as the same mailbox.
- You can't create an account with a disposable email address.
- Password: at least 8 characters. Your password is stored as a one-way hash that can't be reversed.
- Name: 2-24 characters; it starts and ends with a letter or digit and contains at least one letter. Letters, digits, spaces and `'._-` are allowed.
- Verification: you verify your email to take a holding in a world. Logging in and browsing the site don't require verification.
If you forget your password, a reset link is sent to your email.
Worlds and your account
- You can play in several worlds at the same time with the same account.
- You can't leave a world by choice; you stay until the Age ends or your last holding falls.
- If you want to delete your account, you can do it from inside the game: your email, password, sessions and personal data are deleted, and the record of the Age you played remains without your name (Privacy and data).
Devices
Otenos plays in your browser and on your phone; there's nothing to install.
- Add to home screen: add the game to your phone's home screen and it opens full screen with its own icon.
- Notifications: while you're out of the game, important events reach your phone (Phone notifications).
- Interface: light and dark theme, interface size and language can be changed in the settings.
Fair play
In Otenos, power is earned in the game, and a few promises protect that:
- Advantage is never for sale. Speed, resources, troops, build queue, Tender, auction access or tools that make the game easier are never sold under any circumstances. Convenience tools are either free for everyone or don't exist at all.
- Tender can't be transferred. There are no gifts, loans or alliance treasuries.
- Your balance is private. Only you can see your Tender balance.
- Resources are sent only between your own holdings; trading with other players happens at the market.
- Bids are sealed. Until the close, only you can see your bid.
- The same moment for everyone. Battles, arrivals and closes resolve at the same moment for everyone.
- Results are final. The outcome of every battle is written in its report and never changes.
Read more on the Fair play page.
Multiple accounts
Each player plays one account per world. Every account is registered by email, and every order is logged with a hash of the browser and the connection; your raw IP address is never stored.
Lumen and the store
Lumen is the cosmetic currency, and it's spent only on cosmetics: coat of arms ornaments, holding styles, themes, chronicle bindings. Lumen never turns into Tender, resources or any advantage in the game (Store).
- Lumen is bought in packs; it isn't earned in the game.
- Lumen you buy goes to your account and stays there.
- Cosmetics you buy with Lumen are permanent and come with you from Age to Age.
Languages
The game is available in five languages: English, Turkish, German, Portuguese (Brazil) and Spanish. You can change the language in the settings and from the site's top bar.
